Australia's leg-spinner Adam Zampa delivered a match-winning performance against India in the second ODI of their series, earning the Player of the Match award for his impressive four-wicket haul. The 33-year-old spinner took crucial wickets of key Indian players Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul, and Nitish Kumar Reddy during his 10 overs, conceding 60 runs.

Speaking after the match, Zampa expressed his delight in beating India, describing the contest as "always been a good battle" in ODIs between the two teams. He praised both sides for their adaptability to different conditions and shared gratitude for bowling after his teammate Mitchell Starc and under the calm leadership of captain Mitchell Marsh. "His beauty is that he's relaxed, never emotional. We older guys run our own show," Zampa added, reflecting on team dynamics.

In the match, Australia, leading the series 1-0, asked India to bat first. India started cautiously with openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, but swift wickets of Gill (9) and Virat Kohli (0) reduced the team to 17/2, thanks to Xavier Bartlett who took 3/39. Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer steadied the innings with a significant 118-run partnership, while Axar Patel's 44 maintained stability despite Zampa's effective bowling dismantling the middle order.

Australia's chase saw early setbacks with two quick wickets, reducing them to 54/2, but consistent contributions from Matt Short (74 off 78 balls), Cooper Connolly (61*), and Mitchell Owen (36) ensured Australia chased down the target in 46.2 overs to seal an unassailable 2-0 series lead. Connolly and Short combined for an explosive 59 runs in just 6.3 overs to close the match, ending Australia's three-match losing streak in the format.

Zampa's performance not only helped clinch the series but also marked a personal milestone, as he surpassed Steve Waugh to become Australia's seventh-highest wicket-taker in ODIs with 196 wickets in 115 matches. His success once again underscores his importance as a key weapon in Australia's white-ball bowling attack, particularly against strong opponents like India.
