Smriti Mandhana Levels With Meg Lanning for Most International Centuries in Women’s Cricket

India Women’s opener Smriti Mandhana has scripted history by equalling the record for the most international centuries in women’s cricket held by Australian legend Meg Lanning. With 17 international hundreds each, Mandhana and Lanning now share the top spot, a milestone reached during India’s ICC Women’s World Cup match against New Zealand at the DY Patil Cricket Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Mandhana’s stunning career tally includes 14 centuries in One-Day Internationals (ODIs), two in Test matches, and one in Women’s T20 Internationals (T20Is). In comparison, Meg Lanning’s record stands at 15 ODI centuries and two in T20Is. This remarkable feat cements Mandhana’s status as one of the game’s all-time greats.
Leading the Tournament and Breaking Records
Mandhana is currently the leading run-scorer in the World Cup tournament, amassing 331 runs in six innings at an average of 55.16 with a strike rate exceeding 100. She has not only matched Lanning on career centuries but also tied with South Africa’s Tazmin Brits for the most centuries scored in a calendar year, recording five hundreds in 2025 alone. Last year, Mandhana had four centuries to her name, showcasing consistent performance and dominance in women’s cricket.
The left-hander has also set a new benchmark for power-hitting in women’s cricket, smashing 29 sixes this year—surpassing Lizelle Lee’s previous record of 28 sixes in 2017. Other notable six-hitting players include Deandra Dottin, Chloe Tryon, and Chamari Athapaththu, who each recorded 21 sixes in a single year.
Partnership Milestones and Benchmarks
Mandhana, alongside Pratika Rawal, has also featured in five century partnerships across all wickets in a calendar year, equalling renowned Australian pair Belinda Clark and Lisa Keightley, who achieved the feat in 2000. Their partnership of 212 runs against New Zealand is the highest for Indian women in World Cup history and the third instance in women’s World Cups where both openers scored centuries in the same match.
Pratika Rawal has carved her name alongside Mandhana by becoming the joint-fastest woman to reach 1,000 ODI runs in just 23 innings. Rawal boasts 1,123 runs at an average of 50.45, including two centuries and seven fifties, with a highest score of 154.
